My Three Words for 2011:
Explosive, Ignite, Launch
Explosive: 2010 was kind of like a fire cracker that was lit but didn’t go off, it was a dud for me. I accomplished much but felt like I did very little.
The one thing I learned about myself in 2010 is that I needed to build, create, and grow something. For most of 2010 I struggled with “What next?” I had lost the entrepreneurial drive and spirit, which my God had planted within me, and it took most of the year to get it back; to rekindle that flame.
So this word, EXPLOSIVE, symbolizes to me to be ready daily to make an impact. To use the power placed within me to create, grow, and build something that will make a lasting impression and impact on others. I don’t want to flame out, expecting a big bang and in the end be a dud. So, every day I need to make sure my flame is ready, that it’s able to reach the powder of impact and be explosive. It also symbolizes for me focused energy. I need to eliminate distractions that will take me off course, slow me down, or cause me to just flame out.
Ignite: This word goes along with explosive but to me it’s about what I can do or be for someone else. How can I ignite in them a passion to do greater things? To be the spark that gets someone motivated, moving in a new or fresh direction or just help them to get up when they’re down. For me I will smile more, shake hands with anybody, and have a kind word to say, be positive, display happiness, exalt others above myself, and be generous.
The word Launch has been on my mind for a couple of months now as I begin my new venture. To me it’s about Bigness, Greatness, Uniqueness. There are a lot of unknowns to a launch, whatever it is. There’s fear, doubt and even mistakes. But when you take the bold steps past fear and doubt, you’ve launched yourself to a destination that ultimately will be worth the journey.
